We feel that Renegade Wrestling Club is blessed with some of the most dedicated and knowledgeable coaches in the state. Each coach has a desire to see that each and every wrestler lives up to his fullest potential, on and off the mat.

Jamie Rutherford
Coach Rutherford has been involved with the Renegade Wrestling Club since 2006. He is currently the assistant wrestling coach at Ellis Middle School in Davie County. He was an assistant wrestling coach at Mt. Tabor high school for the 2006-2007 season, and before that he was a club coach for Alleghany Wrestling Club. While at Alleghany, he ran the K-6 youth program for four years and ran the freestyle and greco program for five years. He has helped coach one USA Cadet Freestyle All-American at Alleghany and one Senior National All-American at Mt. Tabor.
He has one twin brother, Jimmy Rutherford, who is the current head coach for the Alleghany high school wrestling team.
Coach Rutherford also runs the popular North Carolina Wrestling Forum and the North Carolina Wrestling Scout Report .
Lee Lawson
Coach Lawson is very knowledgeable with all facets of wrestling. He was a North Carolina high school wrestling official for 2 years. He was an assistant coach at Mt. Tabor high school from 2002-2006, and he has been involved with the Renegade Wrestling Club since 2002.
Many people may recognize Coach Lawson from many local and national wrestling tournaments. He has been the tournament director for the past two years for the Mid-west 4A Regional tournament. He has helped Gary Brownell , the creator of Gimp Software, the past several years run the National High School Coaches Association National Open in Myrtle Beach; Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior Nationals at Virginia Beach; the Pre-season Nationals; the Super 32 Challenge; and the Southern Scuffle (college wrestling tournament).
